Mapping Up

mapping-upMapping Up:
What is it and how and why you do it.

Mapping up simply put is marking your run out on a map. It is where you pen your line with a dry wipe marker on a wipe down map.

By doing this it has a few different functions in helping you learn the knowledge.

A) It helps you see the line you have just run.
B) It helps you orientate the route out on the map, seeing the direction you have travelled and roads interconnecting with your run.
C) It helps to get the map in your head.

We recommend that you do this before going out for your run, as-well as after doing your run.

The map on the left shows you the famous Manor House Station to Gibson Square. You can see it runs from North to South and the main roads which link in along the line of travel.
